Donevan Blackwood is a Marine Corps veteran, formally a Sheriffs Deputy, and is a dedicated firearms instructor. With a lifelong commitment to service and personal defense, he now applies his experience as a instructor and gunsmith.

Defensive Solutions, and partnering with LS Armory, his company is dedicated to providing practical, real-world firearms training for responsible citizens. His courses emphasize defensive shooting, situational awareness, and preparedness, reflecting his deep concern over the current geopolitical landscape. He firmly believes now more than ever, that citizens must take responsibility for their  own security.

A staunch advocate for self-reliance and community preparedness, Donevan combines his military experience, law enforcement background, and extensive firearms knowledge to equip others with the skills necessary to protect themselves and their loved ones. His no-nonsense approach to training is built on a foundation of discipline, practicality and a firm belief in the right to self-defense.

Shawn Hunter, who owns A2 Firearms Training! Shawn holds two master's degrees: one in Criminology and the other in Criminal Justice, both from Indiana State University. Over the past decade, he has been a POST-certified firearm instructor in Idaho. Shawn is qualified to teach pistol, shotgun, and patrol rifle ( AR-15). Additionally, he is a combat firearms instructor and a Glock specialist. He has obtained an advanced patrol certification, enabling him to instruct on the legal and firearms requirements for Idaho's Enhanced Concealed Weapons Permit, which he's been doing since 2016. Shawn is passionate about instructing in firearms courses and enjoys seeing students of any skill level develop and grow from continued training.

Shawn Hunter, the expert behind A2 Firearms Training, has over 18 years in law enforcement, and he is currently serving full-time for the Blackfoot Police Department. He has extensive knowledge of firearms safety, handling, and advanced shooting techniques. Whether you're a newbie or a seasoned shooter, he has valuable information for everyone. 

Justin spent 10.5 years working protective force operations, three years were spent reforming and interating asset protection straegies for the US Government. His specialty was developing and deploying procederal training programs, with an emphasis in use of force, tactical offence / defence and security systems operations. For fun he enjoys the outdoors and running his custum knife shop.

Eric Herzog: Master of Medicine and the Blade
With a career defined by precision—both in the pharmacy and at the forge—Eric Herzog is a unique blend of medical professional and defensive tactics expert. Born and raised in Idaho,
Eric has spent his life mastering disciplines that require a steady hand, deep analytical thought, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Professional Expertise & Education
Eric’s academic foundation is rooted in the sciences. He holds a four-year degree in Biology, which provided the groundwork for his advanced medical studies. He went on to earn his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and has served his community for 27 years as a pharmacist. This extensive medical background gives him a unique perspective on human
anatomy and physiology—knowledge that informs both his martial arts instruction and his blade designs.

Martial Arts & Tactical Mastery
For three decades, Eric has been a dedicated practitioner of traditional martial arts, honing the discipline, timing, and movement required for high-level combat. However, his
specialization lies in the technical world of edged weapons.
● 16 Years of Specialized Training: Dedicated to Martial Blade Concepts (MBC) and Counter-Blade Concepts (CBC).
● Certified Instructor: Eric is a certified instructor in MBC/CBC, trained to teach the functional, anatomy-based application of knives for self-defense.
● Tactical Philosophy: His approach focuses on efficiency, legal defensibility, and the practical reality of personal protection.
Herzog Custom Blades
Eric transitioned from using tools to creating them, founding Herzog Custom Blades. As a knife maker and designer, he translates his decades of martial experience into functional art.
He specializes in self-defense edged weapons, with a particular focus on the Wharncliffe blade profile. His designs are prized for their structural integrity and their optimization for
MBC/CBC tactics, ensuring that every knife he produces is as effective as it is aesthetically refined.
